Objectives:

  1. To create a visual art display that will be installed on a wall in Waverly Elementary Middle School.
  2. The artwork should have a positive aesthetic.
  3. The artwork must include fractals and tessellations as design elements.

 

Process:

  1. Mr. Joseph (artist in residence) will facilitate a 12 hour workshop with students to complete objectives.
  2. We will meet twice a week for 1.5 hour sessions.
  3. The artwork will be presented to the school community at Family Math Night on February 18th 2009

 

Schedule:

1/22/09 - Introductions. Clarify objectives. Review definition of fractals and tessellations and look at examples. Begin design phase.

1/26/09 - Finalize design, prepare boards, begin creative production.

1/28/09, 2/2/09, 2/5/09, 2/9/09, 2/12/09 -Creative production

2/18/09 - (Morning) Finishing touches., prepare artwork for display.
- (Evening) Display and present finished works at Family Math Night
